Snowman Jar Luminary
The Finished Product:
Clean Jars (mason jars, baby food jars, etc…)
Acrylic Paint (white, black & orange)
Black and Red Felt
Candle (tea light or LED)
Scissors and Glue
Begin by cutting out the rim of the hat. Trace the top of the jar on the black felt. Cut out the inside of the traced circle (see photo below). Then cut a larger circle to create a donut shape from the felt. Set this aside for later.
Next paint the outside of the jar with white acrylic paint. When the white paint has dried use the black paint to paint the eyes, mouth and top rim of the jar. A carrot nose is then painted with the orange paint. While the jar is drying cut the red felt into strips and fringe the ends.
Finally, once the jar is completely dry, use a dab of glue to secure the red felt scarf to the base of the back of the jar. Bring the ends around and tie the scarf. The black felt donut should slip easily over the top of the jar to create the rim of the snowman’s hat. Add a candle and enjoy!
